All about Cicadas

Cicadas are insects they have head thorax abdomen. They have 5 eyes,6 legs, 2 wings that are orange. The shed their exo skeletons.  They live underground for 17 years or more and comes out for only a few weeks. Their predators are praying mantis, lizards, birds. They are about as big as a child's pointer finger. They eat plant juices.  The male makes a loud noise that sounds like a rattle snake to attract female cicadas. They have claws on their feet to hook on a tree or a leaf or whatever they are on. If a cicada was on your shoulder by your ears and it made its loudest sound you could become deaf (deaf means you cannot hear anything).the lay about 4 eggs and their life cycle is egg,nymph, molt, adult (cicada).
